Thank you for taking the time to learn about our organization. The Scouts and leaders of Troop 1332 are proud of the troop and our 27+ years of accomplishments. The troop’s goal and mission are to work with young men so they will become proud, productive members of our society. They will have fun as they learn Scouting skills, advance, and experience personal growth. Youth in the troop are fully supported by a corps of highly trained adults.

You do not have to call – just stop by for a visit. Your son will be placed in an existing patrol and encouraged to participate in the evening’s activities as if he were a Boy Scout. An Assistant Scoutmaster and Committee Member will deliver a message to the parent about our troop. This is a time to hear more about our troop and an opportunity to have all your questions answered.

Our chartered organization is Wildewood Baptist Church, located at 5110 Louetta Road, two blocks west of Kuykendahl. The church and its membership have supported the troop, our activities, and the Boy Scouts of America for many years.

The troop meets every Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. at Wildewood. Merit badge sessions, Boards of Review, activities for rank advancement, and Scoutmaster Conferences are held on Tuesdays as well. If you have any questions, please call any of the following adult leaders. They will be able to answer questions you may have.

"Never do anything for a boy that he can do for himself." ~ Baden-Powell

Troop 1332 prides itself on being a boy lead, boy run Unit. The skills and experiences of leadership are carefully crafted under the guidance of qualified adult leaders. The leadership youth of the Troop are given every opportunity to succeed, and to learn positively from mistakes.

Our youth leadership begins with the Patrol Leader of each new Patrol formed in the Troop, and continues on to all levels. All of our youth leaders attend Troop Junior Leader Training twice a year, many of our youth attend the Council’s New Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) conference, and we are very proud of our many youth who have been selected to attend the National Youth Leadership Instructors Camp held at Philmont Scout Ranch.

The youth in the Troop are fully supported by a corps of highly trained adults; from the introductory basics for Unit positions to Wood Badge, C.O.P.E., Leave No Trace, all field sports, aquatic-based activities such as flat-water canoeing; tower and hard-rock climbing, and high adventure including Powderhorn, Kodiak and Kodiak X. Our individual and group training is a life-long commitment from both the adults and the youth of the Troop.

"The Patrol Method is not just a method,it is the only method." ~ BadenPowell

The Patrol is a group of Scouts similar in age, development, and interests. The patrol method allows Scouts to interact in a small group outside the larger troop, working as a team and sharing the responsibility of making their patrol a success. A patrol takes pride in its identity, and the members strive to make their patrol the best it can be.

Patrols sometimes join with other patrols to learn skills and complete advancement requirements. At other times they will compete against those same patrols in Scout skills and athletic competitions.

The members of each patrol elect one of their own to serve as patrol leader. The Troop determines the requirements for patrol leaders, such as rank and age. To give more youths the opportunity to lead, Troop 1332 elects patrol leaders twice a year. The newest Patrols will have elections more often.

The number of active patrols in the Troop depends upon our enrollment and the needs of its members. The ideal patrol size is eight Scouts. Patrols with fewer than eight Scouts recruit new members to get their patrol size up to the ideal number.

Each Patrol in Troop 1332 has a full compliment of equipment: chuck boxes, tents, lanterns, and stoves to help in them in their outdoor experiences.
